Pecos meet’s turnout good, Iraan rescheduled
More than 185 kids turned out for this past weekend’s Pecos Summer Track Meet, up from about 150 who competed last year. “We had a good turnout. This event keeps growing and we hope to have more than 200 or 250 kids here next year,” said Tom Hughes, summer program track coach. The Pecos meet was third in the summer track series that began with meets in Crane and Odessa. Next on the schedule are meets in San Angelo on June 23, Iraan on June 29 and the regional meet in San Angelo on July 7. “The Iraan meet has been rescheduled from June 30 to June 29,” Hughes said. “After regionals there will be a state meet but the date has not been set.”
