Alton Hughes wrote an extensive history of Pecos and Reeves County during the 1970s, published by the Pecos Enterprise in a weekly column called Just Musin'.
Hughes reprinted the columns in two historical volumes, which are out of print. Used copies are available at www.amazon.com . Search for "Pecos: A History of the Pioneer West."
