Rodriguez celebrates fifth birthday

Samantha Rodriguez celebrated her fifth birthday at grandma Anna’s house. Family and friends were on hand to help celebrate the special occasion.

Theme for the special event was “Bratz.”

Guests were served hamburgers and hotdogs, a “Bratz” cake and cantaloupe.

She received a lot of gifts, including Bratz dolls, blanket and a Barbie Jeep given to her parents.

Parents are Donny and Laura Rodriguez.

Grandparents are Johnny and MaryAnn Varela, Pete Maldonado, Charles and Gloria Waight and the late Panfilo Rodriguez.

Ochoa celebrates fifth birthday

Ruben James Ochoa celebrated his fifth birthday with a pool party held in his honor at his home.

Theme for the special event was “Spiderman” and family and friends were on hand to help celebrate the special occasion.

He is the son of Gina Ann Ochoa.

Grandparents are Gina and Ruben Flores of Pecos.

Great-grandparents are Patsy and Bobby Lyles of Pecos.

Great-great grandparents Juan and Vicenta Montoya and Isidro and Luisa Ortega.

Ortiz, Urias announce wedding plans

Ramon D. and Sofia Ortiz announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Maria C. Ortiz to Samuel D. Urias, the son of Jimmy and Mary Urias.

The bride to be is currently employed at the Pecos Workforce Center and the future groom is employed with the Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 7, at the Ft. Stockton Christian Center in Ft. Stockton.

Williamson to celebrate 50th anniversary

Tommy and Margie Williamson, of Pecos, will be honored with a reception given by their children and grandchildren in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 31, from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church, Fifth and Hickory Streets.

Miss Margie Fowler and Tommy Williamson were married June 26, 1954 in the Crosbyton Church of Christ Parsonage with Brother Cline Drake officiating.

Their children are Joseph Mark and his wife, Sarah Harrell Williamson of Katy; James Matthew and his wife, Jody Ellison Williamson of Pecos; John Mace of College Station and Joshua Miles and his wife, Kristi Sanders Williamson of Katy.

They have seven grandchildren, Jacob and his wife Misty of Pecos; Nicholas of Pecos, Jennifer, Jessica, John Mark, Miranda and Mark, all of Katy.

Å “treasure box” is planned for the couple with special memories of them as a couple or as individuals. Your letters, notes, greeting cards or other memorabilia may be brought to the reception or sent in care of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Williamson, 2210 S. Eddy, Pecos, Tx. 79772.

All friends of the couple are invited to share with the family during this special occasion.

Alfalfa Workshop on Monday

The Pecos Agriculture Experiment Station will host a regional alfalfa production workshop on Monday at the station, located seven miles west of Pecos. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the program will run from 8:30 to 3 p.m.

Registration cost is $10, and pre-registration can be done through the Reeves County Extension Office, at 447-9041.

Garage Sale Saturday

A “Garage Sale” is planned for 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, at the Santa Rosa Hall.

The event is sponsored by the church’s Prayer Group and is a yearly fundraiser.

Homemade breakfast burritos will also be available.

CCRC seeks school supplies funds

Community Council of Reeves County is holding their Annual School Supplies Fundraiser.

A drawing with several items to be given away will be held.

Tickets are $5 and will give individuals a chance to win: a 27 inch color television; DVD Home Theater System or a six CD Changer Home Audio System.

Tickets can be purchased from any CCRC employee.

The drawing will be held Aug. 20 and all proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies for children of low-income families.
