Springs receives award for years of service

Dallas County Commissioners Court presented Deputy Margaret "Totot" Springs with a 25-year resolution for services rendered as a deputy sheriff in Dallas.

Deputy Springs is the daughter of the late Margaret Crockette and was born in Pecos.

She completed her education in Los Angeles, Calif. and returned to Texas and completed the academy in Dallas in 1978.

Springs was assigned a number of jobs in the department , but has spent the last 19 years in the Patrol Division. She was also named "Officer of the Year" by Texas Peace Officers in Dallas.

Deputy Springs has also received 100 letters of commendations from different organizations in Dallas and surrounding cities which included 21 years of volunteer services with the Dallas I.S.D. and the Chamber of Commerce.
