Iglesias celebrates third birthday

Donovan Iglesias celebrated his third birthday with a party held in his honor, Dec. 1, in Odessa.

Theme for the special event was "Finding Nemo."

Helping him celebrate were his cousins, "Kylie, Zachary and Andrew and several other friends and family members.

Donovan is the son of Vanessa Miranda and the grandson of Max and Sylvia Miranda and Ernesto and Sylvia Iglesias.

Great-grandparents are Luis and Laura Tellez.

Registration planned at OC

Spring registration at Odessa College will begin in January. Students whose names begin with M-Z will register 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 7, and those whose last names begin with A-L will register 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 8.

New students will start the registration process at the Learning Resource Center.

Returning students will start their registration process at the tent by the Student Union Building.

To speed up the registration process, new students are urged to submit an application for admission prior to registration. Applications are available in the OC catalog and from the OC Admissions Office and Web site.

Students may arrange to pay tuition with a short-term loan, allowing scheduled payments throughout the semester. Loans include a $20 fee and require a 10 percent down payment.

Scholarships, state and federal grants, and college work-study positions may be available. Students who have completed at least 15 semester hours at OC also may apply for federal loans. Students are encouraged to apply early for these programs. Funds for some programs do not become available until later in the semester.

Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident tuition rates.

New students must furnish an official transcript and may be required to provide test scores or other appropriate documentation for course placement. All transfer students must furnish an official transcript and Texas Success Initiative status information.
