Vasquez named Officer of the Month

The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to announce that Amanda Vasquez, of Pecos, has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month for September.

Officer Vasquez is a 1998 graduate of Martin Luther King High School in San Angelo and enjoys spending time with her three-year-old son, Edom Nathaniel.

She has attended the American Commercial College and plans to further her education.

Officer Vasquez began her employment with the Reeves County Detention Center on Oct. 21, 2002.

"Officer Vasquez' willingness to accept additional responsibilities and her determination to succeed has earned her this award," said RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.

As a Correctional Officer, Vasquez' primary responsibility is to maintain security and control of the institution.

"She has continuously executed this responsibility in the highest respect, and has always taken great pride in her position with the Reeves County Detention Center," said Franco.

Officer Vasquez has proven to be an effective leader and mentor to all new staff assigned to the Custody Department, according to Franco.

"Her understanding of all posts pertaining to custody has been a tremendous asset in the training of new staff members," said Franco. "Her dedication to the Reeves County Detention Center is outstanding," he said.

"It is a pleasure to be associated with an individual such as Officer Vasquez, who exhibits such professionalism," said Franco. "We wish her continued success in her career with the Reeves County Detention Center," he said.
