Juarez named Officer of the Month

The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to announce that Benny Juarez of Barstow has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month for August.

Juarez' hobbies include fishing, camping and being outdoors.

He and his wife Sylvia have been married for 23 years and are the proud parents of four children, Corina, 24; Benny Jr. 20; Paul 18 and Michael Lee, 17.

Officer Juarez began his employment with the Reeves County Detention Center on May 7, 2001, as a Correctional Officer.

His dedication, professionalism, and ability to communicate and deal effectively with inmates warranted him a promotion to Correctional Officer II, according to RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.

As a Correctional Officer, Juarez' primary responsibility is to maintain security and control of the institution and attend to inmates everyday needs.

"Officer Juarez is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the Custody Department and is an asset to the department," said Franco.

"We are very proud of Juarez' achievements and it is a pleasure to be associated with such an individual," said Franco. "Mr. Juarez sets an example for all to follow with his dedication, determination and professionalism," he said.

His determination to succeed has earned him this award.

"We wish Mr. Juarez continued success in his career with the Reeves County Detention Center," said Franco.
