Talleys celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. William Duff Talley observed their 55th Wedding
Anniversary on Aug. 6.
William Duff Talley and Anna Louise Miller were married in the Methodist
Church in Pecos, in 1948.
Mr. and Mrs. Talley have one son, Mikel Duff, and two grandsons, William
Mikel and Christopher Blake.
Mr. Talley was employed by General Adjustment Bureau in 1953, and was
involved in the insurance industry until his retirement from Talley-Reed
Insurance Agency, in Alpine in 1988.
Duff and Ann moved to Alpine in 1967, where they enjoy the people and
activities of their community, and are members of the University Baptist
Church.
Old Timers plan Mata tournamen
The West Texas Old Timer's League will present the Johnny V. Mata Memorial
Tournament 2003 on Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10, at Martinez Field.
Opening ceremony will be at 9 a.m., Saturday.
Special appearance will be made by former major leaguer and Midland Lee
grad Randy Velarde and Rocky Rockhound, the Midland Rockhounds' Mascot.
