Living Nativity planned
A Living Nativity scene will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, at West
Park Baptist Church, corner of 6th and Eddy streets.
Light refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m., provided by the Youth
of West Park.
The event will be held in the front lawn of the church, so bring your
lawn chairs or you can sit in your cars to view the beautiful scene.
Everyone is welcome to come.
Abila selected as employee of month
Patricia Abila has been selected as Employee of the Month for November
at the Reeves County Detention Center.
Abila has been employed at the Reeves County Detention Center since
March 2, 1999.
Abila as a Purchasing Agent, performs a wide range of assignments and
has maintained a high level of administrative effectiveness, according
to RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.
As Purchasing Agent, she accurately keeps track of the expenditure of
all departments within the institution.
Abila is married to Gilbert Abila and is the proud mother of two children
"She is a self-motivated person and is always looking for new ways to
improve the cost effectiveness of the institution," said Franco. "Her performance
during this rating period has been exceptional in all areas," he said.
She is an employee who can perform any assignment with the highest level
of competence, according to Franco.
"Mrs. Abila's work ethics and positive attitude have been absorbed by
her co-workers and has contributed to a positive working environment,"
said Franco.
"I commend Mrs. Abila for her devotion to duty and wish her continued
success in her career with the Reeves County Detention Center," he said.
