Brown, Summitt wed in Las Vegas

Holly Anne Brown and Timothy Marlow Summitt were married Nov. 5, in Las Vegas, Nev.

The bride is the daughter of Les and Kathy Brown of Canadian. She is a graduate of Andrews High School and Southwest Texas State University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degree.

She is employed as a teacher at Rodriguez Elementary School in Austin.

The groom is the son of Marlow and Martha Summitt of Pecos. He is a graduate of Andrews High School and Texas Tech University. He is employed by Fidelity National Flood in Austin.

They took their wedding trip to Las Vegas and will live in Austin.

Area students make list

A total of 72 students from this area are included in the 33rd Annual Edition of Who's Who Among American High School Students, 1998-1999.

Who's Who, published by Educational Communications, Inc Lake Forest, Ill., is the largest recognition program and publication in the nation honoring high achieving high school students. Students are nominated by high school principals and guidance counselors, national youth groups, churches and educational organizations based upon students' academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities. Traditionally, 99 percent of Who's Who Students have a grade point average of `B' or better and 97 percent are college bound.

The 33rd Annual Edition of Who's Who Among American High School Students, 1998-99, published in 18 regional volumes, features over 750,000 students or just five percent of the nation's 14,000,000 high school students. They represent approximately 20,000 of the 24,000 public, private and parochial high schools in the country.

Free seminar sponsored

A seminar will be held from noon until 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Pecos Senior Citizens Center, 119 S. Cedar.

Topic of the special meeting is titled, "Don't Become a Victim of Telemarketing Fraud!," and will presented by Ramon Ornelas, Pecos Police Administrator Assistant.

Ornelas will discuss how to learn the lines- know the signs and what's the pitch _ where's the hitch? And provide valuable information.
