Vasquez named officer of month

Joe Vasquez has been selected as the Correctional Officer of the Month for September at the Reeves County Detention Center.

Vasquez began his career at RCDC as a Correctional Officer in November 1998.

Vasquez has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in the performance of his duties as a Correctional Officer.

The position requires considerable sacrifices in time, energy and personal risk.

"He is highly motivated and demonstrates a high level of responsibility," said RCDC Warden Rudy Franco. "He performs his assignments with the maturity of a well seasoned officer," he said.

Vasquez is extremely effective in managing the inmate population and maintaining the security of the institution, according to Franco.

"Vasquez has performed in many of the more responsible positions at the Reeves County Detention Center and continues to be an inspiration to our newer staff," said Franco.

"The staff at Reeves County Detention Center and I are extremely proud of Joe's contributions to Reeves County and to the Detention Center and we wish him the very best as he continues with his career," said Franco.

"It is a pleasure to be associated with Joe and his family and friends have every reason to be proud of him and his contributions to Reeves County," said Franco.
