Graham completes cadet training

Randall T. Graham recently completed the cadet basic training program at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. The training is designed to form new academy cadets into disciplined soldier-officers possessing personal pride, confidence, obedience to command orders, and dedication to duty.

Commercial Credit office, located at 201 S. Oak Street, changed its name to Citi-Financial on Sept. 7. Mayor Dot Stafford served as the honored host at the Grand New-Naming Event in celebration of the 87-year-old company's new name.

As part of the celebration at the Pecos location, CitiFinancial also kicked off a "Change for Name Change" coin collection campaign to benefit the local "Christmas in Spring" program. Through mid-October, customers and the public are invited to drop their change in the collection container at the Pecos office.

Joining Mayor Dot Stafford at the sign unveiling and "Change for Name Change" kick off was Daisy Roquemore, president, of the "Christmas in Spring" program, who dropped the first coin in the collection container.

CitiFinancial is part of the Citigroup family, the world's most global financial services company which includes other companies such as Citibank, Travelers Property Casualty, Travelers Life and Annuity, Salomon Smith Barney, Primerican and others.

"We're pleased that we will now share the `Citi' name," said Branch Manager, Rosa Guerrero. "But what's most important is that, while we have a new name, we will still continue to provide our customers with the friendly, attentive service they've come to expect from doing business with Commercial Credit.

"We'll continue to be an active participant in the Pecos community and hope everyone will join us in donating to the `Change for Name Change' coin collection drive to benefit `Christmas in Spring' program," she said.

Through the foundation, CitiFinancial makes contributions annually to local organizations and projects dedicated to helping the communities where it does business have a better and brighter future. In 1998 alone, the foundation made grants to more than 2,000 organizations nationwide.
