Ybarra named firefighter of the month
Gus Ybarra as been named Firefighter of the Month for the month
of April 1999.
Ybarra has been a member of the Pecos Volunteer Fire Department since
Jan. 5, 1995.
He is married and employed with the Town of Pecos City.
"He exhibits great enthusiasm and is prompt to respond to the calls,"
said Fire Chief Roy Pena.
"We're very glad to have Ybarra on board with us, he helps out tremendously,"
said Pena. "His dedication to this group and the backup he provides is
a great asset," he said.
The board is proud to recognize Ybarra as Firefighter of the Month for
April 1999.
Vacation Bible School set
Children age 4 through eighth grade are invited to Vacation Bible School
at West Park Baptist Church, Sixth and Eddy Streets, July 26-30.
Classes are from 8:30-11:30 a.m., with Bible story videos for earlybirds
and supervision until noon for late leavers.
Parents are invited to a program/luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Following
a performance by the children to show what they learned about the Bible
and related songs. Hot dogs, hamburgers and homemade ice cream will be
served.
