Golden Girl Nominee

Erin Paz is the 17-year-old daughter of Lupe and Diane Paz.

She is sponsored by Valley Motors and City Drive-In Cleaners.

Miss Paz is a member of the Pecos High School Student Council, the Pecos High School Marching and Symphonic Band, the Junior Engineering Technology Society (JETS), National Honor Society, the newspaper staff and the Latin Club.

She participated in U.I.L. competition in accounting and journalism, was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and participated in the ANGELS program.

She was a chairman of the DASH committee in Student Council.

The Golden Girl nominee enjoys classical ballet, church, all types of music and loves challenges.

"I'm extremely talkative and I love being busy doing something all the time. I don't watch much television," said Miss Paz.

Guajardo, Martinez plan June wedding in Del Rio

Bertha Elia Guajardo and Donato B. Guajardo, Jr., of Del Rio, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brenda Jean Guajardo to Jeremy Thomas Martinez, of Odessa.

Martinez is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Martinez of Pecos. His grandparents are Mrs. Eva Rodriguez and Mr. and Mrs. Tomas Martinez, Sr. He graduated from the UTPB in 1997 and is currently employed with West Texas Opportunities as a case management specialist.

Miss Guajardo is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolfo Maldonado and Mr. and Mrs. Donato B. Guajardo, Sr.

She is a 1997 graduate of Sul Ross State University and will be employed by Advantage Schools in Midland as a teacher.

The couple will be wed at Grace Community Church in Del Rio, June 26.

They plan to live in Midland, following the wedding.

Class reunion planned

The Class of 1959 will be having their 40th reunion with a get-together scheduled for July 3.
