Zubeldia nets
Master's degree
On Friday, May 14, College of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M., graduated
a record 166 students. Among that largest-ever graduating class was Carolyn
Salinas Zubeldia, daughter-in-law of Herminia Casillas of Pecos.
Zubeldia, a 1976 graduate of Fredericksburg High School, received the
Master of Science in Education degree in Counseling from CSW. In 1980,
she received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Justice from St. Mary's
University in San Antonio. In 1979, Zubeldia was awarded the Associate
of Arts degree in Law Enforcement from Odessa College, Odessa.
Zubeldia is crrently employed by the U.S. Department of Labor as a counselor
in Carlsbad, N.M.
Because enrollment at CSW has more than tripled in the last decade,
College of the Southwest has experienced a number of record graduations.
Last year, a total of 155 students graduated from private College which
is anchored in Christian principles and free enterprise education. College
of the Southwest is one of only three private colleges in New Mexico.
