Shower honors Hollands and new baby girl

A baby shower honoring Sherry and Waymon Holland and new daughter, Coletta Renee, was held in the home of Patsy and Bobby Rogers, 1907 Wyoming, at 7 p.m., April 12.

Mrs. Coletta Elaine Harrington of Jacksboro, mother of Sherry and very proud grandmother and one of the namesakes of the new baby, was a special guest. The name Renee comes from the baby's mother.

Mrs. Holland was presented a lovely lacey pink and white baby corsage created by Karen Shelton by the hostesses, as she arrived.

Guests registered in Colletta Renee's baby book upon their arrival.

The serving table was centered with a lovely arrangement of tulips in tones of pink, held in a cut-work crytal vase, which were accented by a pastel pink bow. Globed candelabra of matching crystal, holding pink cnadles, flaned the floral arrangement.

An array of finger foods which included three sandwich choices, cream puffs, carrot cake, Baby Ruth cookies, pigs in a blanket, and cream cheese cookies, iced in pink were served along with assorted nuts, butter mints and pastel M&M's. Pink lemonade punch and coffee were the drinks of choice.

When Sherry had opened the gifts, in the den of the home, they were then displayed in the master bedroom.

Dot Stafford, Diane Teague, Mary Bell Jones, Melissa Box, VaLera Gatewood and Margie Williamson joined Mrs. Rogers as hostesses. Individual gifts were chosen by the hostesses for the honoree.

Waymon Holland teaches at Zavala 7th Grade Middle School and Sherry Holland is a techer at Pecos Kindergarten. They moved to Pecos in August of 1998. It was a bit of a "return home" for Waymon who had lived in Pecos several years during his "growing up years."
