Group gathers at museum for reunion

Bill Davenport has been hosting a colorful group at the West of the Pecos Museum recently.

An informal reunion of United States Navy buddies and wives were in town for a few days, visiting and enjoying Pecos.

This visit marks the first time all four have been together since early 1944. The group was stationed on Treasury Island of the Soloman Islands in the South Pacific during WWII.

The visitors are Dick Koeing (Carpenter's Mate) of Newbury Park, Calif.; Fred Purser (Carpenter's Mate), with his wife, Brenda of Pilot Point, Tx.; Zack Buchalew of Pinevill, La. and his wife, Frances.

Local historian, Davenport, (Carpenter's Mate), Pecos, hosted the group to the grand tour of the West of the Pecos Museum.

If anyone would like to schedule an appointment for a mammogram and/or arrange for a speaker, call 1-800-222-8388.
