Evans competes at convention
David Evans competed at the TMEA Music Convention held on
the weekend of Feb. 6, in San Antonio.
He competed against 30 trumpet players from around the
state. His audition resulted in his selection as First Chair
at SSB All-State Band as a junior.
Evans also earned First Chair honors at both regional and
area levels. He also competed in the 5-A regional tryouts
and earned First Chair.
Evans, a junior at Alpine High School, has garnered this
honor for the second straight year.
He is the son of Paul and Celia Evans currently residing in
Alpine.
He is the grandson of Tino and Lupe Acosta of Pecos and Joe
and Zoia Evans of Georgetown, Tx.
