Peters celebrates birthday


Neoma Peters celebrated her 90th birthday recently with a
surprise party held in her honor. Numerous family members
and close friends were on hand for the special occasion.

She was born Sept. 3, 1908.

Peters' eldest son and his wife, Melvin and Betty Blount,
organized the special event and invited the entire family to
help celebrate.

She has four sons, Melvin Blount, Gene Blount, Tom Blount
and Greg Peters, along with one step-son, Robert Peters.

Melvin and his wife, Betty Blount, reside at Brownwood Lake;
Tom and Pat Blount live in Jacksonville, Tx., Gene and
LilaLee Blount reside in Del Rio, Greg Peters is from Pecos
and Robrt and Diane Peters live in Nashville, Tenn.

Grandchildren include Sheila Kilgore of Odessa, Melva
Williams of Colorado, Darla and Dennis White of Pearland and
Billy Blount of Jacksonville. Great granddaughter Kandra and her husband, David O'Dell of Andrews, were present, as were the great-great grandchildren, Kassie and Kyla O'Dell.

Rodriguez named employee of month


Larry Rodriguez has been selected as Employee of the Month
for August.

Rodriguez has been employed at the Reeves County Detention
Center since Aug. 22, 1995.

He started as a Correctional Officer and then moved onto the
Case Management Department as a Case Manager.

Rodriguez' performance of all his assigned duties has been
exceptional. He is an employee who is dedicated to the
philosophy of the Reeves County Detention Center and can be
depended upon to accept any assignment and perform at the
highest degree of competence.

"Rodriguez is an experienced Case Worker who takes enormous
pride in his work and eagerly accepts new challenges," said
Warden Rudy Franco. "He is a tireless worker who does not
tolerate substandard performance in any level of the work
environment," he said.

"He is a very versatile employee who exhibits unlimited
potential and he is a definite asset to the institution,"
said Franco.
