Patino celebrates first birthday with party
Santiago S. Patino celebrated his first birthday on Jan. 4 with a
party held in his honor at the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse Barn, which
included a dance.
He was born Jan. 5, 2002.
Theme for the special event was "Looney Tunes" and he
received many gifts.
Santiago is the son of Sergio and Valeria Patino.
Maternal grandparents are E.C. and Socorro Lazcano.
Paternal grandparents are Simon and Graciela Patino and
great-grandmother is Mary Patino, all of Pecos.
He was joined in the celebration by his uncle and aunt, Ernesto
and Rose Ann Lazcano and aunt Jessica Patino and many uncles, aunts
and friends.
Carrasco named Officer of the Year at RCDC
The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to announce that
Angel Carrasco has been selected as Officer of the Year.
Carrasco is a 1986 graduate of Pecos High School and his hobbies
include learning about electronics, working with stereo systems and computers.
He also likes to work around the house, teaching his son how to be a welder.
Officer Carrasco has 60 college hours and wants to return back to
school to receive his associate for advance electronic technician.
He began his employment with the Reeves County Detention Center
on May 3, 2001, and was promoted to Correctional Officer II on March 16,
2002. On July 6, 2002, Carrasco advanced to Correctional Officer III, and on
Sept. 28, 2002, he was promoted to the maintenance department.
Officer Carrasco's willingness to accept additional responsibilities and
his determination to succeed has earned him this award.
"Carrasco performs his duties with exceptional results," said RCDC
Warden Rudy Franco. "He was awarded Correctional Officer of the Month for
2002," he said.
During the past year, Officer Carrasco has given his all to become the
best that he could be and that is why he has earned these promotions,
according to Franco.
"Mr. Carrasco is always willing to assist wherever needed and takes
pride in accomplishing his duties in a professional manner," said Franco.
"His dedication to the Reeves County Detention Center is outstanding," he said.
"It is a pleasure to be associated with an individual such as Officer
Carrasco, who exhibits such professionalism," said Franco. "We wish him
continued success in his career with the Reeves County Detention Center," he said.
