Sandovals tell of new daughter
Ruben and Margie Sandoval, of San Angelo, are delighted to announce
the adoption of Sophie M. Sandoval.
Sophie was born on Aug. 9, and weighed seven pounds, one ounce and was
19 inches long at birth.
Proud grandparents are Lupe and Cristina Carrasco of Pecos and Jose and
Lupe Sandoval of Odessa.
Great grandmother is Santos C. Garcia of Pecos.
Marquez serves in coalition overseas duty
Isaiah Marquez is currently serving overseas with the 82nd
Airborne Division.
U.S. Paratroopers from the fabled 82nd Airborne Division took
over coalition operations recently at the Kandahar air base in southern Afghanistan.
Troops from the 82nd, based at Fort Bragg, N.C. are replacing
the 101st Air Assault Division of Fort Campbell, Ky., which arrived
about six months ago.
The 82nd Airborne will be responsible for conducting security
and combat missions in southern Afghanistan and will total about 3,500 soldiers
once they're all in place by August.
Spc. Marquez is married to the former Rebecca Fitch of Saratoga, New York.
His parents are Ernest and Olga Florez Marquez.
Grandparents are Elias "C.C." and Janie Marquez and Maria M. Florez.
