Junior high equipment pick-up Tuesday, Thursday
Preseason workouts for the Pecos Eagles' junior high school
football and volleyball teams will begin next Monday, Aug. 19, and junior
high coaches Michael Valencia and Lucy Lara have announced dates
for returning forms and equipment pick-up this week for seventh and
eighth graders.
All seventh and eighth grade volleyball players need to bring
their physical forms, pick up work out clothes and fill out
athletic paperwork from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crockett Middle School
gym, located on the west side of the building.
A short parent/athlete meeting will be held at this time.
All players must have their physical forms filled out by a
doctor and returned to their coaches before they can begin preseason
workouts. Regular season play opens on Sept. 5, with games against Van Horn.
For the football players, physical forms can be returned and
equipment can be picked up on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Crockett
Middle School gym
Regular season play for both the seventh and eighth grade
football teams will begin on Sept. 5 with games against the Alpine Bucks.

RCCRD continuing volleyball,
football sign-ups for 3-6 graders
The Reeves County Community Sports and Recreation Department
is registering boys and girls now through late August for the fall volleyball
and pee-wee football programs.
Recreation Department Director Nora Geron said registration for
volleyball runs from now through Aug. 23, while sign-ups for football continue
through Aug. 30. Both are open to girls and boys entering Grades 3-6 this year.
Enrollment is $10 per child for volleyball and $20 per player for
football. Forms can be picked up at the recreation department office in the old
Pecos High School gym. A birth certificate must be provided and both parents
must sign the registration form for the child to participate.
