P-B-T moves date for physicals for grade students
The time and date for physicals for Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD students has
been changed, according to Pecos High School trainer Joel Birch.
Physicals had been scheduled for this Saturday at the PHS new gym for
students entering grades 7-12 this August, but will be held at a later
date, Birch said. He added that Dr. Orville Cerna would conduct the physicals
instead of Dr. Gary Albertson.
For the physicals, students must bring a completed medical history form,
and their glasses or contacts if they use them during games. Students should
also wear shorts for the physicals.

Rec department deadline Friday for classes
Friday is the deadline for enrolling children in the Reeves County Community
Sports and Recreation Department youth T-Ball leagues and summer chess
classes, while sign-ups also are going on for men's summer basketball at
the recreation department office in the old Pecos High School gym.
Registration for the men's league is $22 per player, with a limit of
10 players per team. For T-Ball and chess, registration is $10 per child.
The T-Ball league is divided into two age groups and is open to children
between the ages of 4 and 7. The chess classes will be divided into beginners
and intermediate classes and will run two days a week for six weeks.
Parents can pick up enrollment forms at the recreation department office
at the old Pecos High School gym during regular office hours. Deadline
to register for both activities is Friday, May 24. For further information,
