Moore selected as Officer of Month

The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to announce that Susan Moore, of Pecos, has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month for April.

Moore is a 1982 graduate of Whiteface High School in Whiteface, Texas.

Her hobbies include sewing, arts and crafts, motorcycles and music.

Moore is married and the proud mother of one daughter.

Officer Moore began her employment with the Reeves County Detention Center on Aug. 7, 2000 and was promoted to Correctional Officer II on Aug. 24, 2001. On Oct. 12, 2001, she advanced to Correctional Officer III.

Officer Moore's willingness to accept additional responsibilities and her determination to succeed has earned her this award, according to RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.

As a Correctional Officer, Moore's primary responsibility is to maintain the security and control of the institution.

"She has continuously executed this responsibility in the highest respect, and has always taken pride in her position with the RCDC," said Franco.

Officer Moore has proven to be an effective leader and mentor to all new staff assigned to the Custody Department, according to Franco.

"Her understanding of all post pertaining to custody has been a tremendous asset in the training of these new staff members," said Franco. "Her dedication to the Reeves County Detention Center is outstanding," he said.

"It is a pleasure to be associated with an individual such as Officer Moore, who exhibits such professionalism," said Franco. "We wish her continued success in her career with the Reeves County Detention Center," he said.
