Akers named Officer of Month
Scott Akers has been named Correctional Officer of the Month for March
at the Reeves County Detention Center II.
Akers is married and is the proud father of one child. His past-time
activities include hunting, softball and golf.
Officer Akers began his career with the Reeves County Detention Center
on Sept. 25, 2000. He was promoted on Sept. 15, 2001, to his current rank
of Correctional Officer II.
Akers is a veteran officer who has proven himself to be both extremely
reliable and professional. His work ethics and attitude are of the highest
level and he is a prime example of the officer's employed at Reeves County
Detention Center.
He has stepped forward as a veteran and helped to train and mentor the
new officers hired at the facility, according to RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.
"Officer Akers has worked all pertinent posts and is dedicated to the
operation of the Reeves County Detention Center. He is always willingly
accepts additional responsibilities and accomplishes all assigned tasks
in minimal time with exceptional results.
As a Correctional Officer, Akers' primary responsibility is to maintain
security and control of the institution. "Officer Akers has continuously
executed this responsibility in the highest professional manner, and has
always taken pride as an officer of the Reeves County Detention Center,"
said Franco.
The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to recognize Correctional
Officer II Scott Akers as Correctional Officer of the Month.
"His high standards, quality of work performance, and self-motivation
have earned him this honor," said Franco. "It is a pleasure to be associated
with an individual such as officer Akers, who exhibits such professionalism,"
he said.
"We wish him continued success in his career with the Reeves County
Detention Center," said Franco.
