Scott recognized  for heroism in Coast Guard

Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Bradley K. Scott, son of Carolann and Barney G. Lee of Pecos, was recently recognized for heroism at the annual Coast Guard Foundation awards ceremony while assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet, Riviera Beach, Fla.

While serving as a crewmember, Scott and two fellow crewmembers were on a routine training mission when they spotted an entangled and disoriented diver in the water less than 50 yards from an oncoming cruise ship. They quickly put their small boat between the diver and the cruise ship.

Scott then helped pull the diver into their boat and was told that another diver was missing. They immediately searched the area and found the second diver, saving two lives.

Scott is currently assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Human Resources Service and Information Center, Topeka, Kan.

Scott joined the Coast Guard in September 1999.
