Juarez to celebrate ninth birthday
Alexa Juarez will celebrate her ninth birthday on Saturday, Jan. 19, at
Pizza Pro.
She is the daughter of Nola and Jimmy Juarez of Barstow.
Pecos students named to lists
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin has announced Fall 2001 students
who qualified for the President's and Dean's list. Students who have a semester
Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 to 3.99 are listed on the Dean's Honor
List.
Students who have achieved a 4.0 GPA are listed on the President's Honor
List. Students seeking their first bachelor's degree only are eligible once
they have earned at least 12 credit hours at U.T. Permian Basin.
Students named to the Dean's List from the Pecos area include: Marivel
Arenivas, Celia Carrasco, Diana Crawford, Delia Dominguez, Linsey Hathorn,
Lydia Prieto, Melissa Valdez and Dalila Valenzuela.
Students from Pecos that were named to the President's List include Erin
Ward.
OC Student Art Space series presents program
The Odessa College Student Art Space Series presents, "Famous Faces" through
Jan. 31.
The exhibit is on display at Student Art Space, the OC student gallery,
located in Sedate Hall, Room 111, and features 20 high-contrast pencil drawings
created by Drawing I class students. The dramatic black and white images
include John Lennon, Willie Nelson, Alfred Einstein, Jeremy Irons and others.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
