Opening game for 9-10 LLers is pushed back

The opening game of the District 4 Little League Tournament for the 9-10 year old all-star team, scheduled for tonight at Chano Preito Field, has been canceled after Crane withdrew from the tournament.

Pecos was scheduled to host a 6 p.m. game, with the winner going on to face San Angelo Western, San Angelo Southern or North Concho on Sunday at North Concho. Instead, the Little Leaguers will play their opener at 6 p.m. on Saturday at North Concho, and then will take on either San Angelo Western or San Angelo Southern in a winner's bracket or elimination bracket game on Sunday.

The tournament openers for the 11-12 Little Leaguers and 13-14 year old Junior League All-Star squads are both still set for Saturday, July 7. The 11-12 year olds will play a 5 p.m. game at San Angelo Western and the Junior Leaguers will face San Angelo Lake View at Grape Creek, starting at 6 p.m.
