Clark earns coveted title in the TCCA

PECOS, April 3, 2001 - With the conclusion of the 2000-2001 show season comes a new line-up of winners and contenders in the TCCA point standings and a new exhibitor receiving the coveted "Run for the Roses" champion title.

It is no surprise that Courtney Clark, of Pecos, is completing her very successful show career with the title that all junior steer showman hope to achieve.

Clark, with the support of her family and many friends and supporters, has logged unlimited miles and traveled to every region and corner of the state to accumulate over 5,770 points to assure her victory as the All Around winner in a competitive steer division.

Along with her overall win, she is also the leader in the Hereford and the Shorthorn division, the contender in the Maine Anjou standings and a top ten finisher with her Limousin steer. This year alone, Clark has an impressive show record of 172 breed champions, 74 reserve breed champions and over 20 grand or reserve grand champion titles to her credit.

She accomplishes this record by attending over 85 shows and being on the road almost every weekend for a year.

She is a senior at Pecos High School and is recognized around shows as a tough competitor that is always willing to lend a hand or words of encouragement to another junior.

Of all the victories and shows she has attended, Clark says the biggest thrill of her show career is leading the points in the All-Around Steer Division. It is something she has always wanted to do. This is definitely a great way to complete a show career and the memories and highlights of this show are some that Clark and her family will keep forever.
