Ortega sisters celebrate their birthday
PECOS, February 26, 2001 - Bianca and Destiny Ortega celebrated their birthdays
together on Feb. 17.
Bianca is four years old and her sister, Destiny turned two.
Theme for the part was Scooby-Doo and both enjoyed the Scooby-Doo Pillows
they received.
The girls are the daughters of Danny and Tomasita Ortega.
Grandparents are Manuel Orona; Bonifacio and Mary Jane Ortega and Danny
and Elizabeth Ortega.
OC offers GED testing
PECOS, February 26, 2001 - The Odessa College Testing Center is doubling
the number of monthly examination dates for the GED _ General Educational
Development _ Test in an effort to aid students to complete all five of
the test's segments before a new, revised GED Test is introduced in 2002.
Pre-2002 test segment scores will not be accepted in the 2002-series
GED Test, according to OC Testing Center coordinator Rosie Aguilar.
"For students who have already taken segments of the test, we want
to provide as many opportunities as possible for them to finish this year
and earn their GED diploma by December 2001," said Aguilar. "For those
who don't finish, they will have to start all over again in 2002."
She urges students to contact the Testing Center at 335-6620 for dates,
times and test segments offered, plus information regarding fees and other
requirements. Aguilar also advises that Testing Center staff are available
to answer questions about study options and college preparation.
The GED Test certifies 12th grade ability in social studies,
math, science, reading and writing skills.
