Natividad has first birthday

PECOS, February 8, 2001 - Isabel Natividad celebrated her first birthday, this past January, with a party held in her honor.
Family and friends were on hand to help her celebrate.
She is the daughter of Veronica Natividad and Hector Rodriguez.
Paternal grandparents are Manuel and Maria Rodriguez.
Maternal grandparents are Augustin and Laura Natividad.

BPA competes in regional competition

PECOS, February 8, 2001 - The Balmorhea Business Professionals of America members and their chapter advisor, Yolanda Hernandez and parent sponsor James Garlick traveled to San Angelo, to participate in the BPA Regional Conference.
The conference took place at Central High School on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The hard work, perseverance, and dedication of all the members who attended were a reflection of the results. Balmorhea High School was very well represented at the 2001 Regional Conference. Ten of the 12 students who competed will be traveling to the BPA State Leadership Conference on March 1.
This year's State Conference will be in Fort Worth, on March 1-4.
Results of the Regional Contest include: State Qualifiers, Parliamentary Team, first place, Chris Barragan, Danny Guebara, Jerry Mendoza, Celina Rodriguez, Arturo Rodriguez, Ivan Rodriguez and Isaiah Rodriguez.
Parliamentary Individual Test: first place, Ivan Rodriguez; fourth place, Chris Barragan; fifth place, Jerry Mendoza and sixth place, Isaiah Rodriguez.
Website Development Team, first place, Tommy Garcia and Julia Garlick.
Fundamental Accounting, Arturo Rodriguez, third place.
Keyboarding Production, Julia Garlick, third place.
Database Applications: Aricela Arredondo, third place.
Network Concepts: Arturo Rodriguez, third place; Isaiah Rodriguez, fourth place and Tommy Garcia, sixth place.
State Alternates include, Isaiah Rodriguez; application/interview A, Celina Rordiruge; desktop publishings, Jourmain Matta; verbal extemporaneous I, Danny Guebara and spreadsheet application, Tommy Garcia.
Roxanne Lopez competed in Fundamentals of Word Processing event during this conference. All the students did an outstanding job in representing Balmorhea High School, according to Hernandez.

Fundraiser planned for Friday

PECOS, February 8, 2001 - An Enchilada Plate Fundraiser will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Santa Rosa Hall.
Homemade, red enchiladas will be for sale for $4 a plate.
The fundraiser will benefit the Pecos High School senior class.
