The academy runs from January until November of 2001. Gutierrez wins in Talent Show competition Kiara Gutierrez won first place at the Fiesta West Texas Talent Show. Gutierrez was awarded a trophy and professional studio time to record her own song, for winning first place. She also won first place at the Menudo Cook-Off in Odessa.
