Contestants for pageant sought

The nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant is seeking representatives from the Pecos area to compete for the title of Mrs. Texas America 2000. The winner of the state pageant will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. America.

The Mrs. Texas America Pageant will take place May 26-28, 2000, at the beautiful Sheraton Brookhollow Hotel in Houston. The contestants will compete in evening gown, swimsuit, and personal interview. Mrs. Texas America 2000 will go on to take part in the nationally-televised Mrs. America Pageant in September.

Bonnie Productions, producers of Mrs. Texas, Mrs. Arizona and Mrs. Utah America Pageants, has experienced significant success in the pageant industry. Mrs. Utah 1999, Starla Stanley, was crowned Mrs. America 1999 and went on to win the Mrs. World crown in December.

The Mrs. America program has only one purpose: to celebrate the beauty of America's married women. Mrs. Texas contestants do not necessarily fit any particular mold. They represent an incredible variety of backgrounds, lifestyles and personal interests. Contestants range in age from 23 to 72 years.

Women interested in competing for the title of Mrs. Texas 2000 are encouraged to contact Bonnie Productions at (480)-563-4216, or visit their website at www.mrstexasamerica.net.

Robertson named officer of month

Katrina Robertson has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month for January at the Reeves County Detention Center.

Ms. Robertson has been a Correctional Officer since March 8, 1999.

Her positive attitude and performance during this period makes her deserving of this award, according to RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.

"Katrina is a self-motivated, dedicated and dependable officer that is able to work all pertinent posts," said Franco. "She demonstrates excellent communication skils with both inmates and staff, making good decisions pertaining to job related issues," he said.

"Her knowledge of policy is an area where care, custody and control are a must, is displayed in her performance," said Franco.

Robertson is the proud mother of two children.

Her dedication and outstanding performance has gained her this honor, according to Franco.

"We are extremely proud of Katrina's contributions to the institution and congratulate her on this award," said Franco.
