Jernigan receive special award
Army Sgt. Laura R.K. Jernigan has received the Commanding General's 2-Star
Coin of Excellence for starting and running the Warriors Against Drug Program.
Successfully mentored 56 teenagers over the summer, instilling direction
which kept tem away fromd rugs and crime.
Jernigan is a military police narcotics dog handler with the 25th
Military Police Battalion at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii.
Her husband, Thomas, is the son of Fred Jernigan of Pecos.
OC ready for spring sessions
Students interested in attending any of the five spring sessions of Odessa
College's weekend classes may enroll during spring registration Jan. 12-13
or late registration Jan. 18-21.
Additional registration times for Weekend College sessions A, C and
E will be Friday, Jan. 21, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. For session B, students may
register Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 25-27, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday, Jan.
28, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. For session D, registration will be Tuesday-Thursday,
Mar. 21-23, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday, March 24, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Weekend College courses parallel those offered in the regular team except
they are compressed into a shorter time span. Full academic recognition
is given these courses, and the time spent and the credit earned is equivalent
to that of the regular session.
Classes offered are Composition and Literature, US History from 1877,
Applied Psychology, Public Speaking, Certified Legal Assistant Review,
Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Computer Systems and Basic
Computer-Aided Drafting.
Students should consult the 2000 Odessa College Spring Schedule of Credit
Courses for exact dates and times of course offerings in each session.
New students _ those who have never attended Odessa College including
transfer students from other colleges and universities _ should complete
and submit an application for admission to the OC Admissions Office as
soon as possible.
All transfer students must furnish an official transcript and TASP scores.
Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment
is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident tuition rates.
