Juanita GutierrezJuanita Gutierrez, 90, of Pecos, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Reeves County Hospital. A rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., tonight at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Flores officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born on Aug. 13, 1911 in Pecos. She was a lifelong resident, and was a homemaker and a Catholic. Survivors include two sons Orlando Gutierrez of El Paso and Ruben Gutierrez of Fountain Valley, Calif.; one daughter Dora Rodriguez, also of Fountain Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Yvette Bradley SimsYvette "Princess" Olguin Bradley Sims, 30, of Abilene, formally of Pecos, died on Monday, May 27, 2002 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. A rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., tonight in the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002 at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. She was born on Oct. 7, 1971, in Pecos, had lived in Abilene for seven years. She was a receptionist for Abilene Foot Care and was a Baptist. She is preceded in death by her mother Rosa Olguin Bradley and her brother Tye Bradley. Survivors include her husband Douglas Sims of Abilene; her parents Bobby and Velma Bradley of Pecos; three brothers Eric Bradley of Pecos, Fred Covington of California and Richard Champell of North Carolina; two sisters Jeanette Bradley of Pecos and Elizabeth Lyttle of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews. DeWitt BlackW. DeWitt Black, a former Barstow and Pecos native, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born in Barstow, on Oct. 22, 1908, was the son of pioneer Doctor W.D. and Lizzy Y. Black. He was in the furniture business in Pecos, and moved to Albuquerque, N.M. in the late 1940's, where he was in business for over 30 years. Survivors include three children; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Elizabeth Bingham, a Pecos native, now in Abilene. Thelma DicksonThelma Dickson, 74, of Pecos, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Odessa Medical Center Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, May 24, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Pine Bluff, Ark., was a lifelong Pecos resident, a housekeeper and a Baptist. Fred BeckhamFred Beckham, 72, of Grand Saline, Tx., died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at his residence. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, at First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline with Rev. Rodger Garbs officiating. Burial will be Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline. He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Perry, Okla., was a former Pecos resident, had lived in Grand Saline for the past 17 years, was a welder and heavy equipment operator and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Irma Hobbs. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann Sallee Beckham of Grand Saline; one son, Michael Edward Beckham of McKinney; two daughters, Patty Lynn Beckham of Weatherford, Connie Renee Lott of Grand Saline and five grandchildren. He was born Nov. 26, 1963, in Pecos, was a lifelong Pecos resident, a sergeant for the Trans Pecos Drug Task Force and a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his father Juan Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by one brother, R.T. Elliott. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Elliott of Comanche; one son, Michael Quinton Elliott of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Martha Head of Comanche and one brother, Verl Elliott of Nocona. Mass is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Ben Flores officiating. Burial will be in Balmorhea Cemetery in Balmorhea. He was born March 21, 1943 in Balmorhea and was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Lorenza G. Rodriguez of Balmorhea; one son, Hector G. Rodriguez of Balmorhea; one daughter, Viola R. Machaca; one brother, Jaime Rodriguez of Odessa; one sister, Norma Rodriguez of Balmorhea and five grandchildren. Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton is in charge of arrangements. Gaylon BishopGaylon Ray Bishop, 33, died Friday, May 3, at Midland Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Sept. 27, 1968, in Big Lake, was raised and educated in the Concho Valley, in 1985 he moved to Odessa, moved to Lubbock and in 1987 settled in Midland. He worked in the restaurant business since an early age and recently had become co-owner of Speedy-G's restaurant. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Ray Bishop; paternal grandparents, Alma Tillman and Henry Bishop; maternal grandparents Wanda and Virgil Reeves. Survivors include his wife, Lupe Bishop of Midland; three sons, Aaron, Joshua and Michael Bishop of Midland; one daughter, Alyssa Bishop of Midland; his parents, Ronnie Larry and Sandra Bishop of Roswell, N.M., Jack and Mary Driscoll of San Angelo; two brothers, Ronnie "J.D."
