Golden Girl nominee

Amy Armstrong is the 17-year-old daughter of David and
Sherry Brantley.

Miss Armstrong is a member of the Pecos Eagle Band, Business
Professionals of America and Future Farmers of America.

She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church and states, "I
enjoy going to church."

The Golden Girl nominee also enjoys showing pigs and goats
and in local and area stock shows.

"I like to spend time with children and I like to work on
computers," said Armstrong. "I want to be a computer teacher
after I graduate from Sul Ross University in Alpine," she
said.
Her sponsor is Pecos Valley Field Service.

Dominguez nets DeVry degree


Steven K. Dominguez will be earning his Bachelor of Science
Degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry Institute
in Irving.

Dominguez graduated from Pecos High School in 1991 and
served in the U.S. Army for four years.

Commencement exercises will be on Saturday, June 20, at
Texas Hall-UT Arlington.

He is the son of Benny and Sylvia Dominguez of Pecos.

Corralez joins program

Michelle R. Corralez, daughter of Rafael P. Corralez of Big
Springs and Natividad R. Corralez of Pecos, enlisted in the
U.S. Air Force's Delayed Enlistment Program on June 12,
according to SSgt. Escobedo, Air Force Recruiter.

She attended Pecos High School and is currently scheduled
for enlistment in the regular Air Force on May 20, 1999.

Upon successfully completing the Air Force's six week basic
military training at Lackland Air Force Base, near San
Antonio, Corralez is scheduled to receive technical training
in administrative aptitude area career field.

In conjunction with the vocation skill, she will be earning
college credits towards an Associate Degree through the
Community College of the Air Force while attending Basic and
other Air Force technical training schools.
