Long crowned winner in Midland


Sierra Long from Pecos was crowned the over-all winner in
the Gingerbread Productions of America Pageant in Midland on
March 29.

She was also named Miss Photogenic and Best Portfolio in the
2-3 age group.

She is the daughter of Curt and Laurie Long of Pecos, the
granddaughter of James and Billie Sharp of Kermit, R.G. and
Janis Long of Spur.

She is the great-granddaugter of T.L. Long of Jayton, Mrs.
J.E. Sharp of Kermit, and Mrs. Violet Rhone of Bowie.

Valeriano recognized at SRSU


Sul Ross State University recognized its outstanding
students April 13 during its annual Honors Convocation.

Among those recognized was Jose Valeriano of Pecos who
received the Dow-Roberta Pickett Scholarship.
