Ontiveros has

pizza party

Joseph Daniel Ontiveros celebrated his seventh birthday with a party
held at the Pizza Hut in his honor.

The theme for the event was "Thomas the Tank."

Cake, pizza and other refreshments were served.

Many friends and family were on hand for the celebration.

Joseph is the son of Oscar and Nancy Ontiveros of Pecos.

Paternal grandmother is Rosa Ontiveros of Pecos.

Maternal grandmother is Christina Bitolas, also of Pecos.

Wein earns degree at UTPB

Becky Wein graduate from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin,
Saturday, Dec. 13.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and plans to pursue a
career in teaching.

Becky is the wife of Pat and the couple have five children; Craig,
Rebecca, Sara, Michelle and Michael.

She is the daughter of Don and Gloria Woods.

Guard training classes offered

Applications are now being accepted for state prison guard training
classes at Odessa College to be held March 16-April 10. The deadline to
apply is Jan. 7, at noon.

Hundreds of jobs are available with the Texas Department of Criminal
Justice as a guard in the state prison system. Odessa College is
accepting applications from candidates who are at lesat age 18, have a
high school diploma or GED, have a clean criminal record and are willing
to relocate.

Prison guards can make an annual salary of $20,000 plus benefits. Those
selected may select their place of employment.

All candidates will be tested Jan. 27. Interviews begin Jan. 28.

Applications are available from the OC law enforcement/criminal justice
department.

OC will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 4. For information or to receive an
