Chance, Quigg announce January wedding

Kathleen Ivy, of Pecos, announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Ceneesa Chance, to Raymond Quigg Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Quigg Sr. of Alpine.

Chance is also the daughter of the late Tommy Chance. Her grandparents are Zemma Kington and the late Bill Kington of Pecos. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Hinkley of Irving and the late W.T. Chance.

His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Poochie Quigg of Alpine. Maternal grandparents are Dorthy Nelson and the late Richard Nelson of Del Rio.

The couple plan to wed on Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, in Alpine, at the First Baptist Church.

Harris completes basic training

Army Pvt. Dennis D. Harris has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

Harris is the son of Alan and Irma Harris of Pecos.

He is a 1997 graduate of Pecos High School.
