Grandmother shower held at Taylor home

Isabel Lara of Pecos was honored recently with a grandmother shower to
celebrate the arrival of her and husband Mike's first grandchild, Elisa
Yvette Lara, daughter of Mike and Lisa Lara of Odessa.

The Sunday afternoon courtesy was held Sept. 7, in the Gary and Debbie
Taylor home, rural Pecos. Melody Huffman assisted Taylor with hostess
duties.

Taylor and Lara greeted guests upon their arrival. Guests received
miniature corsages which featured baby bottles.

Lovely bouquets of assorted fresh flowers centered both the refreshment
and gift display tables, which were draped in white cloths.

A welcome cake, iced and scalloped in white, was decorated with a stork,
touched with pink, and soft yellow roses. The inscription, written in
pink, was, "Welcome Sweet One." Refreshments of cake, cookies, assorted
mixed nuts, mints, pink punch and coffee were served.

Special guests were Elisa Yvette's great grandmother, Fransisca Lara;
great aunt, Delia Flores; great aunt and uncle, Damania and Lousciano
Vasquez and aunts Rosie Lara and Ester Lara.

Following the serving of refreshments Isabel opened an array of baby
gifts which were passed around for viewing by 24 guests attending.
