A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 29, at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, June 30, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 3, 1960, in Juarez, Mexico, was a lifetime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include two brothers, Fernando Munoz Dominguez of Houston, Abel Munoz of Odessa; five sisters, Maria M. Ramirez and Isela M. Matta of Pecos, Gloria M. Johanson of Pasadena, Lourdes M. Vetsch of Midland, Lorena M. Gavilan of Tyler.

Maria Mendoza

Mass was held at 2 p.m., today, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Florez officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Balmorhea, was a housewife and a Catholic.

Mendoza was preceded in death by her husband, Amador S. Mendoza.

Survivors include six daughters, Sally Hernandez of Morton, Patsy M. Rodriguez, Diana Mendoza, Jeannie Mendoza, Maria "Tweety" Mendoza, Senaida Mendoza, all of Pecos; two sons, Alonzo Mendoza of Pecos, Amador Mendoza, Jr. of Odesssa; three brothers, Wilfred Dutchover of Morton, Alfredo Dutchover of Calif., Edward Dutchover of Fort Davis; three sisters, Vicki Solano of Levelland, Vira Gonzalez of Idaho, Elena Bantley of Fort Davis; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Patricia Matta

Patricia "Amor" Matta, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, lost her courageous battle with cancer and went to the Lord on June 9, 2003. Through her battle, she displayed an inner spiritual strength that left her doctors, family and friends in awe. To the end Patricia demonstrated compassionate concern for those around her, despite her struggle.

Matta, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Matta, was born November 21, 1938 in Pecos. She graduated from Jesus & Mary Academy and entered the order of Sisters of Jesus and Mary, where she continued her education in El Paso. She later moved to Pacoima, California where she obtained her teaching certificate and taught at Guardian Angel School in Pacoima.

Matta was known for her marvelous gift in music as well as her great sense of humor. She will truly be missed by many.

Matta is survived by six sisters: Lois Vasquez of Pecos, Texas, Dalila Herrera, Dora Telles, Santos Guevara and Rita Torres of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Theresa Ramirez of Redlands, California; and two brothers: Joe Matta of Pyote, Texas and Dr. Frank Matta of Clarksville, Mississippi.

A memorial service was held last Friday, June 13, 2003 at Sacred Heart Church in Redlands, California. The vigil service and Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 20 at Christ the King Church in Balmorhea. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, June 21 at Christ the King Church at 10.00 a.m. and interment at Balmorhea Cemetery.

Bernabe Tarango

Bernabe Tarango, 87, of Pecos, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 21, in the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Tarnago was born June 11, 1916, in Candelaria, Tx. and was a farmer.

Survivors include four daughters, Imelda Reyes of San Angelo, Gloria Valeriano of Pecos, Eva Ramirez of Michigan, Sonia Uribe of Houston; two sons, Mario and Adan Tarango of Pecos; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Oscar Reece

Oscar Eldon Reece, 60, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Biloxi, Ms.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 29, at the Tolar, Tx. Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Wooten of Barstow, officiating.

He was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Ft. Stockton, graduated from Barstow High School in 1961, participated in football and basketball and was salutatorian of his class. He served in the U.S. Army, in Germany and elsewhere from Oct. 1, 1964 to Sept. 30, 1967. After his military discharge he worked in Las Vegas, Nev. for 20 years and then in Biloxi, until his death.

Reece was preceded in death by his father, Jesse John Reece and his grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Reece Allen of Abilene; one brother, Jesse L. Reece of Abilene; one niece; two nephews; two uncles and several great nieces and nephews.

Bernabe Tarango

Services are incomplete for Bernabe Tarango, 87, of Pecos, who died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Odessa Medical Center Hospital.

Martina Vejil Lozano

Martina Vejil Lozano, 91, of Odessa died Monday, June 16, 2003, at Seabury Nursing Home.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., today, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Mass is scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, June 19, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was born Nov. 15, 1911, in Saragosa, married Frank Lozano in 1928, in Saragosa, was a homemaker and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Lozano of Odessa; two sons, Robert Lozano of Odessa, Frank Lozano Jr. of Big Spring; five daughters, Hope Fenton of Odessa, Mary Ellen Ibarra, Caroline Benavides and Marcella Arando all of Fort Stockton, Rachel Venne of San Antonio; two brothers, Henry Vejil and Ernesto Vejil of Odessa; three sisters, Virginia Pena of Pecos, Rosa Roman of Monahans, Rosalee Dominguez of Balmorhea; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Gladys Lenora Davis Norwood

Gladys Lenora Davis Norwood, age 93 of Kerrville, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 16, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville with Dr. David McFadden officiating.

She was born April 3, 1910 in China Spring, Texas to E.C. Davis and Minnie Lee Guinn. She married Joe W. Norwood in December of 1941 in Wichita Falls, TX. Gladys was a long time resident of Pecos and Kerrville. She was a retired nurse, an Eastern Star and a member of Kerrville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Norwood; sister, Rowena Lee Davis Grayson; brother, Guinn Edward Davis and nephew, James Lee Grayson.

Survivors include one niece, Dorothy Grayson and two nephews, Charles

Harrison Davis and Dale Elton Davis.

Natalia "Neddie"Vasquez Molinar

Neddie was born in the West Texas town of Presidio on April 14, 1962 to Mariela Calif and Ballazar Vasquez and raised by her adoptive grandmother Natividad Dominguez in Pecos, Texas. 

Neddie was preceded in death by her mother, Mariela Calif Vasquez, in 1963.

Neddie will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Mike Molinar of Pecos, daughters La Crisha Molinar Zapien and husband Mario Zapien, of Alpine; Dee Dee Molinar, of Alpine; by her father, Baltazar Vasquez, of Pecos; by her parents-in-law Delma Molinar and husband Raul Molinar, of Pecos; by her sister-in-law Monette Molinar and Frank Hernandez, of San Angelo Texas; by her brother in law, Rene Molinar and wife Belinda of Odessa; by her grandson Lane Zapien of Alpine; by her niece Brittany Molinar and nephew Ouincy Molinar, of Odessa; and by her half sister, Hazel Herrera, of Pecos and her many beautiful friends and her adoptive families of the Dominguez and Vasquez.

A rosary will be held at Pecos Funeral Home at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, June 13, 2003. The Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at the Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Graveside Services following.

Carolyn Brown

Carolyn Janice Brown, 66, died Sunday, June 8, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, in the Chapel of J.B.Earthman-Tanglewood Funeral Directors in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ora Heasley; her husband, Thomas A. Brown, Jr. and one brother, Tommy Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher M. Brown of Houston, Frank H. Brown of Vancouver, Wash.; one step-son Reed Brown of Austin; one sister, Rouye Rush; two brothers, Lynnwood and Hollys Heasley; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Urbano Herrera

Urbano Herrera, 61, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa.

Herrera was born May 25, 1942, in El Mulato, Mexico, to Timoteo and Maria Herrera, who both precede him in death. He was employed by Medical Center Hospital for 12 years and owned UH Construction and was an active member of the World Wide Church of God for 22 years.

Survivors include his wife, Aurora Herrera of Odessa; one daughter, Elma Herrera of Midland; two sons, Enrique "Rick" Herrera of Odessa, Hector Herrera of Midland; four sisters, Socorro Rubio and Amelia Miramontes of California, Rosa Herrera of Reno, Nev. and Sandie Kelly of Odessa; two brothers, Carlos Herrera of Pecos and Pilo Herrera of California and six grandchildren.

Cora Laskey

Cora Lee Schoolcraft Thomas Laskey, 85, of Alpine, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at the Pecos Nursing Home.

Viewing and visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at the Alpine Cemetery in Alpine with Walter W. Esch of Alpine, retired minister of the Assembly of God Church officiating.

She was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Junction, Tx., worked with her husband in the ranching business below Marathon, the family later moved to Alpine and she trained to be a cosmetologist, which was her full-time work for over 45 years.

Survivors include three sons, James Henry Thomas Jr. of Pecos, Denny William Thomas of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Raymond Harold Thomas of Lubbock; one sister, Alice Smith of Eagle Pass; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miguel C. Contreras

Miguel C. Contreras, 52, died May 30, 2003 at the Midland Memorial Hospital.

Contreras was born on September 29, 1950 in Pecos. He was a lifetime resident of Pecos and a catholic.

Services were held this morning, June 2, 2003, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery. A rosary was held yesterday, June 1, 2003, at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home at 7 p.m.

He is preceded in death by his mother Vidala Contreras. Survivors include three children, Joel Pando of Dallas, Rachel C. Padilla of Pecos and Brianna G. Contreras of Odessa, a brother, Robert C. Contreras and sister Mary C. Contreras, three grandchildren, Anna Lysa Orona, Michelle "Fifi" Contreras and Caitlin Marie Pando.

Cora Lee Lasky

Services are Pending for Cora Lee Lasky, 84 of Pecos.

Lasky died June 1, 2003 at the Pecos Nursing Home.

Chun S. Lee, M.D.

Chun S. Lee, M.D. of Pecos, Texas, died on May 31, 2003 at Odessa Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

Dr. Lee was born on September 12, 1942 in Taiwan. He graduated from Kao Ksiung Medical College there in 1969 and came to the United States in 1971 for postgraduate training. He started his general family practice in Pecos in 1974, and was appointed Reeves County Health Authority in 1984.

Survivors include his wife Betty Lee of Pecos, two sons, Stephen Lee of Lawrence, Kansas and Albert Lee of Lubbock, Texas, one brother Ching Shon Lee of Taiwan, two sisters, Martha Huang of Taiwan and Sayako Ishizthko of Japan. A daughter Janice Lee proceeded in death in 2002.

A memorial service is scheduled at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home in Pecos at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2003, with Pastor Greer Willis officiating. Cremation will follow on June 4, 2003 at Trinity Memorial Park and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Lee requests memorial contribution to be donated to the local churches or other charities.

Jose Felix Mesta

Jose Felix Mesta, 20, died May 30, 2003 in Pecos.

Mesta was born on June 24, 1982 in Pecos. He was a cable installer - technician and a catholic.

Services will be held today, June 2, 2003, at 2 p.m., at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. A rosary was held yesterday, June 1, 2003, at 523 Bois D'Arc at 7 p.m.

Survivors include his parents, Felix and Rosa Mesta of Pecos, two brothers, Gabriel Mesta of California, and Jaime Mesta of Pecos, one sister Rosa Maria Mesta of Pecos and a grandmother Pascuala Sandoval of Pecos.

Rosenda M. Pisana, 95, died May, 30, 2003, at a Hospice Home in Odessa.

Pisana was born on March 1, 1908, in San Rafael, Durango, Mexico. She was a housewife, a catholic and a longtime resident of Odessa.

Services will be held today, June 2, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos with burial to follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery. A rosary was held at 8 p.m., yesterday, June 1, at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include Monico Pisana of San Antonio, Eusebio Pisana of Grand Praire, Manuel Pisana of Ft. Worth, Domingo Pisana of Roswell, NM. And Bill Pisana of Austin, Paula Rubio, Maria Cresencia and Gabina Hernandez all of Pecos, Cadida Chavez, Cecilia Garcia, Linda Minjarez and Christina Guerrero all of Odessa and Juanita Acosta of Carlbad, NM., 71 grandchildren, 160 great-grandchildren and 104 great-great-grandchildren.

Harriet Ester Scott, 93, died May 30, 2003 at the Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.

Scott was born on April 19, 1910 in Holly, CO. She was a Post Office Clerk, a longtime resident of Pecos and a member of the Episcopalian Church.

Services will be held on June 4, 2003 at Trinity Memorial Park and Crematory.

Survivors include two brothers, Archie Scott of Pecos and Paul Scott of San Antonio, sister Phyllis Stool of Pecos and several nieces and nephews.

Leon V. McCracken

Services for Leon V. McCracken, 76, of Pecos are set for 10 a.m. Friday in Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. He died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in Reeves County Hospital of heart failure.

Mr. McCracken was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Gasoline, Texas. He served aboard the U.S. Naval Carrier Antietam during World War II, then attended West Texas State Teacher's College in Canyon and Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

He worked as a bookkeeper for Woods Gulf Jobber and Paymaster Gin in Quitaque, and for 30 years at the cottonoil mill in Pecos. He retired from Card & Company accountants in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy McCracken of Pecos; one son, David McCracken of Del Rio; one daughter, Peggy Goddard of St. Louis MO; a sister, Mary Polk of Cedar Park; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Howard Davis

Howard Wright Davis, 82, of Rocksprings, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at his home.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church in Rocksprings, with Rev. Ron Van Der Weert officiating. Burial was in the Rocksprings Cemetery.

He was born June 17, 1920, in Sonora, was raised in Edwards County, served in the United States Navy during World War II, which also includes the infamous attack at Pearl Harbor, after the war he returned to complete his college education at Texas A&M.

He married Wanda Matthews on Sept. 28, 1946, in Rocksprings, and the couple moved to Pecos where he was a cotton farmer and rancher, later he was elected as a county commissioner.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Davis of Rocksprings; son, Dennis Davis of Brandon, Miss.; two daughters, Cathy Davis Moore of Dallas, D'Anndra Davis of Orange; two brothers, Leonard and David Davis; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Margaret Fernandes

Margaret Lynn "Margie" Menaul Fernandes, 80, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, after a bout with cancer.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Stillwater, Okla., to Paul and Eva Menaul, who preceded her in death. Margie attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, where she met her future husband, John Waddell "Pete" Fernandes. Pete and Margie were married on Jan. 1, 1942, after he enlisted in the United States Army. After the war, Pete and Margie moved to Concho County and then settled in Pecos in 1953. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together until Pete's death in February 2003.

Survivors include son, John Frank Fernandes and wife Susan, Austin; Lynn Fowler and husband, Terry, Pecos; two grandsons, John T. Fowler and wife Meredith, and Jake Fowler, El Paso; and brother, Paul "Pat" Menaul. She will also be missed by many dear friends who spent many happy times with Pete and Margie.

She was a homemaker and a member in good standing of the Thursday afternoon bridge club. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pecos. Those who knew Margie knew that she could do just about anything she put her mind to, including shooting heads off rattlesnakes at the ranch, painting, and making great meals on short notice! We have lost our family lexicographer and grammar expert who never gave up her attempts to keep the "fix-in to's" out of our sentences.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Pecos, the Menaul School, Albuquerque, or to the charity of your choice.

Emily Gray Foster

Emily Gray Foster (Nanny), 77 died Friday, May 23, 2003.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Home. Burial will be in Atwell Cemetery.

Mrs. Foster was born October 7, 1925. She married Truman Hoyt Foster in 1941. The couple had one son, Mac Hoyt Foster formerly of Cross Plains.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and her son in 2001.

Survivors include two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Gerald Wayne Gough

Gerald Wayne Gough, 76, of Olney, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Lunn Funeral Home Chapel with Jiggs Stowe, minister of the Eastside Church of Christ in Newcastle, Texas and Charlie Thomason, minister of the Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Texas, officiating. Interment will be in the Westover Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

Mr. Gough was born January 13, 1927 in Seymour, Texas to the late Romy Erwin and Virginia (Robertson) Gough. He and Jenita Scott were married March 6, 1955 in Loving, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Amy, a retired oil field worker, and a member of the Church of Christ. He moved to Olney in 1993 from Pecos.

Survivors include his wife: Jenita Gough of Olney, Texas; one son: Gerald Gough of Wichita Falls; two daughters: June Scripps of Fredonia, and Linda Markham of Edens; two brothers: Billy Mack Gough of Midland, and Robert Joe Gough of Temple; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Romana Nunez

Romana Lara Nunez, 77, of Pecos, died Friday, May 23, 2003, in El Paso.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 26, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Florez officiating. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Colorado City, Tx., was a lifetime Pecos resident, a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors include one son, Rudy Nunez and his wife of El Paso, Evelyn; two sisters, Maria Munoz and Martina Ortega of Pecos; three grandchildren, Trina, Ileene and Angela; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Tabetha.

Aminda Allgood

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 26, at the North Temple Baptist Church.

She was born Sept. 6, 1961, in St. Louis, Mo., was a truck driver and had earned a degree in carpentry.

Survivors include her mother, Marjorie Wilson; one brother, James "Jimmy" Gober; one sister, Susan Swinney; one niece; one nephew and two great-nephews.

Gerald Lewis

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 23, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Cienega Cemetery in Dell City.

He was born Sept. 26, 1936, in El Paso and was a feed lot manager.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lewis of Pecos; two sons, Martin "Marty" and his wife, Leslie Lewis of Portales, N.M., Casey J. "Petie" and his wife, Kim Lewis of Sonora; one daughter Leeta Renee Everett of Pyote; two brothers, Andrew Lewis of Veribest, Tx., Pete Lewis of Dell City and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Celaya was born Aug. 30, 1913, in Boquillas, Tx., was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Celaya.

Survivors include four daughters, Petra Garcia of Marathon, Julie Sanchez and Damiana Lopez of Ft. Stockton, Delfina Diaz of Amarillo; eight sons, Donaciano, Locario and Valente Celaya of Marathon, Castulo Celaya of Ft. Stockton, Juan Celaya of Maricopa, Ariz., Marcos Celaya of Casa Grande, Ariz., Carlos Celaya of Phoenix, Ariz., Margarito Celaya of Big Bend; four sisters, Marcella Rodriguez of Ft. Stockton, Nina Ornelas of Grandfalls, Catarina Campos of Pecos, Leonor Calderon of Odessa; two brothers, Manuel Santiago of Monahans and Jose Santiago of Grandfalls; 43 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel Pina Garcia, 74, of Manuel Benavides, Mexico, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Manuel Benavides, Mexico and burial will be in the Panteon Municipal in Manuel Benavides.

He was born July 31, 1928, in Manuel Benavides, Mexico, the son of Eugenio and Jacinta Pina Garcia and was a retired self-employed laborer.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Z. Garcia of Manuel Benavides, Mexico; four sons, Alberto Chavez of Ojinaga, Mexico, Jose Manuel Garcia of Lubbock, Eduardo and Leonel Garcia of Odessa; two daughters, Gloria and Sonia Garcia of Odessa; two sisters, Maria de la Luz Archuleta of Pecos, Carmen G. Natividad of Ojinaga, Mexico; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Larue Jackson, 79, of Pecos, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in Tupelo, Miss.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery with Les Woodard officiating.

She was born May 18, 1923, in Runnels Co., Texas, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Hammons of Tupelo, Miss.; two sisters, Helen Hill and Inez Brookshier of Brewton, Ala.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

James Worsham

James O. Worsham, 62, of Pecos, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at the V.A. Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

Services were held at 3 p.m., today, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rey Carreon officiating. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 10, 1940, in El Paso, was an Air Force Veteran, a farmer and a Baptist.

Worsham was preceded in death by his father Bo Worsham and one brother, Robert Glenn Worsham Sr.

Survivors include one son, James Glenn Worsham of Utah; three daughters, Jamie Pearson of Houston, Tricia Fleming and Jennifer Lopez of Brownwood; his mother, Laura Belle Worsham of Pecos; one sister, Linda Chaddick of Houston; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth Robbins

Ruth E. Robbins, 87, died Tuesday, May 13, 2002, at Lakeview Christian Home-Northgate Unit, in Carlsbad, N.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, at Central Christian Church with Reverend Rusty Smith of Guadalupe Christian Camp officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos.

She was born May 25, 1915, in Pecos, to Richard and Ida Nold Ritz. She married Ben Odis Robbins, in 1942, in Pecos, lived on ranches in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas and she and her husband ranched in the Jal area since 1960.

Robbins was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Odis Robbins on Oct. 11, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Robbins of Jal, N.M., Odis Robbins of Odessa; one daughter, Betty Grace Huckaby of Lake Worth; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Acosta was born Oct. 5, 1948, in Terlingua, to Rafael Acosta and Isabel Acosta Villa.

He was preceded in death by his father Rafael Acosta and one brother, Elijio H. Acosta Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Catalina Huerta de Acosta of Irving; his mother, Isabel H. Acosta Villa of Alpine; one daughter, Selina Lara of Amarillo; two sons, Sammy and Vidal Acosta of Alpine; two sisters, Petra Benavidez of Midlothian, Maria Acosta of Venus; two brothers, Erasmo Acosta of Pecos, Antonio Acosta of Hobbs, N.M.; four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

George F. Hook

Hook was a minister of the gospel of Christ in Africa, Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida for 67 years. For the past 13 years he preached for the Church of Christ in Briggs, TX.

Survivors include his wife Margarette, of Marble Falls, three sons, Foy Hook of Lubbock, Walton Hook of Bentonville Ark., and Thomas Hook of Vina del Mar, Chile; two daughters, Lenora Tidwell of Houston and Beth Ann Baker of Marble Falls TX; one brother, Cecil Hook of Tigard Ore.; three sisters Emily Wilson and Elda Aikin of Rochester Tex., and Lois Yeary of El Paso; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Johnny Billeiter

Billeiter was born on June 12, 1934 in Natchitoches, La. He was the owner of Operator Industrial Communications and a Baptist.

Services will be held Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Greer Willis officiating.

Castillo was born on June 21, 1938 in Mexico.

A rosary will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Services will be held at 1 p.m., tomorrow, Friday, May 9, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Grand Prairie with burial to follow at Southland Memorial Park.

He was born Dec. 24, 1936, in Pecos, was a retired relay operator, a lifetime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Perea Levario; two sons, Ruben Levario of Pecos, Saul Levario of San Antonio; four daughters, Cynthia Levario Fuentes of Houston, Lena Levario of Dallas, Gloria Levario of Dallas, Gabriella Levario of Midland; two brothers, Alfredo Levario of Pecos, Roberto Levario of Baja, Calif. and six grandchildren.
